MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

BOULDER COUNTY, THURSDAY, AUGUST 15, 2002

The Board of County Commissioners of Boulder County met in regular session in full conformity with the law and resolution of said Board at the regular place of meeting in the Office of the Board of County Commissioners, Third Floor, Courthouse, Boulder, Colorado, on Thursday, August 15, 2002.

The meeting was called to order at approximately 9:04 a.m. by Chair Mendez with the following present:

Land Use Department:

Docket #SI-02-02 (University of Colorado - Boulder SI-1041); Activities of State Interest Review for the construction of a tennis court complex consisting of twelve fenced courts, a temporary parking lot, viewing stands and associated grading (located south of the intersection of US 36 and Foothills Parkway, in Sections 9 & 16, T1S, R70W) (Tabled from 05/30/02). Legal notice was published in the newspaper of record in accordance with the statutory or regulatory requirements pertaining to this matter.

ACTION

Commissioner Stewart moved to enter into Executive Session to receive legal advice regarding this matter pursuant to CRS 24-6-402(4)(b) Legal Advice. Commissioner Danish seconded the motion.

VOTE: MENDEZ, aye; DANISH, aye; STEWART, aye. Motion carried 3-0. (0100)

ACTION

Commissioner Stewart moved conditional approval of Docket #SI-02-02, in accordance with staff recommendations, commitments of record by applicant, and with additional conditions as contained within the official record . Commissioner Danish seconded the motion.

ACTION

Commissioner Danish moved to formally direct Land Use and County Attorney staf to prepare an amendment to 1041 regulations addressing incremental development of a site. Commissioner Stewart seconded the motion.

ACTION

Commissioner Stewart moved to direct staff to draft a letter to the Boulder City Council regarding the actions taken in this hearing. Commissioner Danish seconded the motion.

a. Resolution 2002-105, proposed property tax increase for Developmentally Disabled and Health & Human Services Programs (rescinds Resolution 2002-101);

b. Resolution 2002-106, proposed sales and use tax increase for Regional Transportation Improvements (rescinds Resolution 2002-97).

Upon motion duly made, seconded and passed unanimously, this meeting was adjourned by the Commissioners at approximately 11:50 a.m.
