Auto Insurance
Requirements
All motor vehicles must
be insured before they can be registered.
If state records indicate your
vehicle is uninsured, you must obtain proof of insurance.
To register your vehicle, the Motor Vehicle office must verify insurance
with ONE of the following items:
- Current insurance card on the vehicle
- Insurance policy, declaration, or binder
- Letter from your insurance provider on company
letterhead
- Proof of self-insurance on the vehicle or owner
Proof of insurance MUST include year, make, Vehicle Identification
Number, effective and expiration dates.
