Consumer Protection Programs
The
Consumer Protection Program seeks to protect Boulder County residents
and visitors by reducing the potential or likelihood of many public
health risks. The program monitors, educates, and regulates: retail food
environments, body art establishments (including piercing and tattoo
parlors), and vectors of animal-borne diseases (including mosquito-borne
encephalitis, rabies, plague,
and hanta virus).
In addition, the Consumer Protection Program strives to educate
consumers to make responsible
personnel choices and behavior changes to help prevent exposure to these
public health risks.
