Bear-Resistant Trash Cans

Only $30 for Lyons & Jamestown Residents

Unsecured garbage is the primary reason for human-bear conflicts.

Boulder County has secured a grant from Colorado Parks and Wildlife for residents of Jamestown and the Town of Lyons to purchase bear-resistant trash carts for less than 10% of retail.

Eligible residents will receive either a Toter® 96 Gallon or a Kodiak® 95 Gallon wheeled trash cart. Brand received is dependent on distribution area.

Both styles are designed to work with automated grabber-style refuse handling systems and have been tested by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee.
