If you haven&#8217;t made the transition yet, it&#8217;s time to trade hiking boots for a pair of cross-country skis. If you are ready to strap on your skis there is no need to travel far Boulder County Parks and Open Space has miles of trails for cross-country skiers to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>The easy 4.5 mile (round trip) trail system at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bouldercounty.org\/os\/parks\/pages\/caribouranch.aspx\">Caribou Ranch Open Space<\/a> is a favorite destination for winter recreation. Not only will you experience a beautiful and diverse landscape, you will also have the opportunity to travel along the historic Switzerland Trail railroad route, pass through the DeLonde Homestead, and visit the Blue Bird Mine Complex. Extend your trip, by adding on 2.5 miles with a visit to the connecting trails at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bouldercounty.org\/os\/parks\/pages\/mudlake.aspx\">Mud Lake Open Space<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You may also want to take a trip up Flagstaff Road to visit the Meyers Homestead Trail at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bouldercounty.org\/os\/parks\/pages\/walkerranch.aspx\">Walker Ranch<\/a>.
