{"id":284,"date":"2013-11-21T10:00:25","date_gmt":"2013-11-21T17:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bouldercountyopenspace.org\/i\/?p=284"},"modified":"2014-02-20T13:36:28","modified_gmt":"2014-02-20T20:36:28","slug":"2014-artist-in-residence-program-at-caribou-ranch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bouldercountyopenspace.org\/i\/activities\/2014-artist-in-residence-program-at-caribou-ranch\/","title":{"rendered":"2014 Artist-in-Residence Program at Caribou Ranch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department is accepting\u00a0applications for the 2014 Artist-in-Residence Program at Caribou Ranch Open Space.<\/p>\n<p>The program provides an opportunity for artists to pursue their work in the\u00a0inspiring landscape and\u00a0history of Caribou Ranch.<\/p>\n<p>Musicians, painters, illustrators, photographers, visual\/film artists, sculptors, performers, poets, writers, composers and crafts\/artisans are all welcome to apply.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, from July through September, selected artists will stay in the historic DeLonde Barn at Caribou Ranch Open Space for up to seven days.<br \/>\nBy sharing their art with Boulder County, artists can add to residents&#8217; enjoyment of their open space lands and create a legacy of art preserved for future generations.<\/p>\n<p>The open space property offers a variety of landscapes to explore including streams, waterfalls, forests, and beautiful vistas. Moose, elk, black bears, beavers, bats and nearly 90 species of birds live within or pass through the area. Also found on the property is the Blue Bird Mine complex where miners from the 1870s to the 1960s extracted silver ore. In the early 1900s, the site was a whistle stop for the Denver, Boulder &amp; Western Railroad.<\/p>\n<p>The application deadline is February 15, 2014.
